When you find yourself holed up in a room, aimlessly drifting, or even just driving thru on your way to Boston, and in Plymouth, Ma, go ahead and take a peak at the famous Plymouth Rock. The same fabled rock that is said to have been trounced upon by the Lucky pioneers ofThe Mayflower sailing vessel many hundreds of years ago, like a few. About 600 to be less than exact. Hey it was in 1620, there we go. So they stepped on this rock that nows lies guarded like the crown jewels of England.
When large numbers of people photograph a fenced off rock,
everybody wins because we’re all laughing like idiots
The little treasures like a collection of larger than life lobster sculptures was a fun surprise. the big and cute lobsters offered lots of great photo ops and cheesy 50s horror movie reenactments. I had about five people ask me to take their picture with the various lobsters.
Wedged in all this was the replica of the sailing ship The Mayflower complete with a an entry fee. It will be up to you whether of not to enter. One can enjoy a birds-eye view of the ship from the state park. the gift shops were fun little hobbit structures complete with old timey staff. There was a noisy air conditioner in one of the quaint windows though. No prob, it was a summer day in Massachusetts.
