Reading this Will Cause Appreciation of Beach Trips.
Summer can really be a lot of fun. Especially if you like to be outside and love the hot weather. Going to the beach is way up there on a list of preferred summer activities.
The best part about hanging out at the beach is the water. That is debatable for sure but come on now, watersports rule. You have the always entertaining splashing around with friends and family. You don’t even have to know how to swim! Bonus! But seriously, you really should take a stab at learning how to swim. You never know when that’ll come in handy. This is not in reference to survival situations. Rather, the time will arise when getting on with it and splashing about in the water can be the deciding factor in a second date (verdict is still out).
Skimboarding is a classic activity at the beach. If you want to do it right, go ahead and make your own board. The thick, nasty looking fiberglass covered wood is just plain awesome! If you’re like most people, you’re going to just buy one, which is fine, a little lacking in creativity but still totally cool. Next, prepare for the mildly exciting ride in a quarter inch of water by running at top speed, pushing aside any by-standing kids. Then pounce on that board like it’s a trampoline. Next thing you know, you’re skimming that water!
Always take care not to jam your foot into a gaping hole left by kids. Those sand castles will be everywhere, landmines placed by children.
For those that may be curious, I made the Skimbo Dude cartoon with the awesome vector editing program Inkscape. Cowabunga dude!
